About
I'm a third-culture kid, having grown up in Congo-Kinshasa. I came to UH in 1986 for a graduate degree in teaching English, intending to return to Africa to pursue a career in that field. Ended up staying in Hawaii since then with a brief sojourn in Micronesia. Have been a teacher trainer, curriculum developer, and language school director.
My doctoral research interests are in International Education and the impact of Globalization on educational access, especially in the developing world. I am fascinated by organizational change and management in educational institutions, and interested in applying a positivist framework to helping institutions in developing nations cope and thrive.
